Gio Estevez x CONVERSE PRODUCT(RED) Chuck Taylor All-Star | Detailed Look

After the announcement yesterday of Damien Hirst’s new contribution to the CONVERSE PRODUCT(RED) Collection, one other artist that was already a participant was Giovanni Estevez, or better known as Gio among his friends. By emulating the careers of some of the best known graffiti artist in New York City, Estevez found himself essentially a Jack of All Trade, from dabbling in his apparel project “ANX”, to commissioned works for Mo Wax, Burton, Number (N)ine, and of course, Supreme. When the opportunity to work on the next CONVERSE PRODUCT(RED) collection came to fruition, the native New Yorker jump on the chance. The result was a Chuck Taylor All Star that perfectly reflected the mood of the city. Toughen appearance on the onset, Estevez envisioned an all black creation, much like how visitors liken the city. However, at a closer look, embroidered lines, inspired by Estevez’s illustrations and New York City’s skyline, begin to appear, similar to how a second or third looks are always needed in order to really know what New York is really like.

Set to 250 pairs only for U.S. distribution, the Gio Estevez x CONVERSE PRODUCT(RED) Chuck Taylor All-Star will be available at only a few retailers across the country, including both Aloha Rag New York and Honolulu locations.
