Maybach debuted a one-off 57 S Edition 125 at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, celebrating the model’s 125th anniversary. The car is done up in Tahiti Black/Patagonia Silver paint and features a redesigned radiator grille, matte black 20-inch wheels and a glove compartment lid embroidered with the signature of company founder Wilhelm Maybach. Ironically, this celebratory special edition 57 S could become the luxury automaker’s swan song. Executives at Daimler, Maybach’s parent company, have disclosed a lack of confidence in the brand, with sales lagging far behind competitors Rolls Royce and Bentley.
