So beloved by generations of runners that its simply known as “Nike Runner” most of the time, but the Nike Waffle Runner had its origin from the 1970s Valnqueuer track spikes. To accommodate runners then and one particular star athlete, Steve Prefontaine, Nike designed the Waffle Runner with all the performance features except for one – the track spikes. In place, the waffle outsole devised by Bill Bowerman, which has since become the signature of Nike. Now, some 36 years later, Nike is bring back its first signature edition with help from J. Crew ahead of the Olympic Games. In exclusive colorways, the suede/nylon classic exemplifies the pursue of speed from a bygone era. Now available only at J.
