Porsche Panamera GTS

Porsche‘s Panamera sport sedan has its share of critics in terms of the car’s unique styling, but the Panamera GTS, just unveiled at the LA Auto Show, is out to quiet the detractors. The GTS designation on any Porsche model typically indicates sports-tuned performance with a naturally aspirated engine, last used on the final version of the retired 997 as well as an earlier model of the Cayenne SUV, and it remains true for the Panamera GTS. The 4.8-liter V8 delivers 430 horsepower, 30 horsepower more than the Panamera S, and 384 lb-ft of torque, up from the 369 supplied by its S counterpart. Porsche’s seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission provides power to all four wheels, while the vehicle gets the Porsche Active Suspension Management, which is able to adjust suspension on the fly by switching the spring rate, damping and leveling. Also standard are the Sport Chrono package and “Sport Plus” mode, which enhances the throttle, engine and transmission responses. The result is a vehicle that accelerates from 0 to 60 in less than 4.3 seconds, half a second faster than the Panamera 4S, with a max speed clocked at 179 miles per hour. In terms of aesthetics, modifications include black trim on many exterior pieces, a sports exhaust system that has matte black tailpipes, plus the striking Carmine Red paint option.
