First land, now Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, familiar to most as BMW, will be conquering the sea. Introducing the Intermarine 55, a 57-foot luxury yacht set to sail this July. A product of DesignworksUSA, a design specialist branch of BMW, and Brazilian ship maker Intermarine, the Intermarine 55 will be the first among many in a new generation of luxury yachts. Harmonious to the open ocean, BMW DesignworksUSA added trapezoid shaped windows in place of traditional portholes for optimal natural lighting to the interior. Inspired by its work on automotive designs, a refined, expressive silhouette translates to speed and elegance, both identical elements found on BMW vehicles. While it isn’t the largest yacht out there, designers arranged its interior to make full use of the available space, about to accommodate a salon, a gallery, 3 cabins, and 2 restrooms.
