concept store that the founders characterize as a “hospitality experience with a difference,” Hôtel Droog is located in the historical center of Amsterdam, providing shoppers a unique retail experience that emphasizes the level of service that the best hotels offer. The 700-square-meter space is situated in a 17th century building, conceived by design house Droog and designed by Tokyo-based Atelier Bow-Wow. Features include an exhibition space, diner, a trio of retail concepts (Weltevree, Cosmania and Het Kabinet, offering home furnishings, cosmetics and fashion), a courtyard garden and a top floor hotel room. According to Renny Ramakers, co-founder and director of Droog, “Hôtel Droog brings all of our activities under one roof — from curation to product design, exhibitions and lectures — and invites people to plug in as they choose.” The official opening is scheduled for September 16th.
