While much of Lanvin‘s revival is thanks to the effort of fashion designer Alber Elbaz, the party responsible for the success of its men’s collection falls under one man, Lucas Ossendrijver. In what the designer called New French Chic, Ossendrijver’s creation falls in between lavishness, often seen in Lanvin’s designs, and simplicity, a trait long associated with the likes of Hedi Slimane, whom Ossendrijver worked with for a number of years. While a clash of ideals on paper, the resulting designs are easily palpable if not luxurious like these Lanvin high top sneakers for men, part of its Fall/Winter 2011 collection and currently available in very limited numbers at Aloha Rag retail locations or online store.
