Volvo unveiled its Concept You this week at the Frankfurt Motor Show, intended as a precursor to the brand’s next large sedan as well as a signal that four-cylinder engines will be the standard in all future Volvo vehicles. Notwithstanding the attractive fastback styling and suicide rear doors, it’s the car’s interior that has people buzzing. The steering wheel is equipped with panels the driver can use to manipulate a screen, located directly behind the wheel, that displays basic driving information like speed and a map of the car’s trajectory. A touch interface on the center console can be activated just by looking in its direction. An infrared sensor detects eye or hand movements and brings up the system’s control mode. With the merest touch of a finger, one can control climate levels, adjust audio settings or check through safety issues. See video and additional images of the Concept You following the jump
