Audi R18 TDI Le Mans Prototype 1 Testing At Sebring Raceway

Many have mentioned its semblances to the Batmobile, while those in the realm of anime have said its uncanny similarities with with Zaku Mobile Suit from the Gundam anime series. But all the comparisons stop once the drivers from Audi Sport Team Joest turns on the 3.7-liter V6 TDI diesel engine. This summer, fans of the “4 Rings” will see a continuation in Audi‘s dominance at the most enduring event in the world of motor racing as it introduce the new Audi R18 TDI LMP1 at Le Mans.  Once again to include a closed cockpit design, the R18 TDI will be the testing platform for many new features, including a 6-speed transmission, an all-LED headlight (with the numeral “1″ arrangement), and the smaller V6 diesel engine which will maximize the car’s fuel efficiency. Currently on the twisty roads at Sebring International Raceway in Florida, the Audi R18 TDI will be undergoing a series of test scenarios this week before making its racing debut at Spa-Francorchamps 6 Hours on May 8th
