 Hanon x Clarks: The Ashcott
Hanon is firmly on the forefront of UK retail, with a long list of exclusives and collaborations to boast of. Add to that this latest, the Aschott, marking the second time Hanon has collaborated with fellow Britons Clarks of England (check out the earlier collaboration here). The Aschott features premium uppers done in leather or suede, courtesy of renowned tanner CF of Stead, England. The suede is shrunken in the tanning process, giving a tighter nap which is less prone to stretching, and hairiness that are sometimes an issue with suede. The Aschott was a long time staple of the Clarks lineup, although it’s been overshadowed by the much more popular Desert Boot and Desert Trek, and Clarks ultimately stopped producing the shoe. As resurrected by Hanon, it gets style updates that bring it firmly back to life; the primary aesthetic is pure clarks: gray suede with a bone sole, or chocolate leather with a gum sole. But Hanon steps in with a splash of color that makes it clear that this is very much a 2011 version of the shoe, which was first seen in 1976. Check out both colorways of the Ashcott after the jump
